About Cookies

Effective from 9 June 2026

This page lists the cookies and similar markers that bestvinreport.com relies on, and shows how to switch the optional ones off. It sits alongside our Privacy Notice.

Why a comparison site needs them

Cookies are tiny files a website keeps in your browser. On a site like ours they do two jobs: hold the pages together as you move around, and let us tell which visits — and which purchases — started here, so the referral is credited to us.

What gets stored

Keeping the site usable

A handful of essential markers are needed for the site to load properly and to remember the language you picked. They carry no tracking value and stay switched on.

Counting visits

Google Analytics sets cookies (the _ga family) so we can count visitors and see which comparisons get read. They run only once you have agreed.

Crediting referrals and adverts

A first-party cookie called bvr_gclid holds a Google click identifier for around 90 days, so a referral can be traced back to the advert or source that produced it. The Meta and Pinterest tags help us judge how our advertising is doing. When you leave for a provider, that identifier may be added to the link. These run only once you have agreed.

Switching the optional ones off

Use the cookie controls on the site to accept or refuse anything that is not essential, and change your mind whenever you want. Your browser can also block or clear cookies on its own. If you would rather opt out of Google Analytics everywhere you go, Google offers a browser add-on that does exactly that.
